District 191 chess tournaments are Dec. 14

District 191 Community Education will host two chess tournaments on Saturday, Dec. 14 at Diamondhead Education Center, its annual One91 student tournament as well as the Burnsville Club and Action tournament, which has individual, club and team divisions and is open to the public. 

Registration is $25 until Dec. 11, and then $35 from Dec. 12-13. On-site registration is $40 and will be open from 8:15-8:45 a.m. the morning of the tournaments. On-site payment must be made by cash or check.

The tournaments will not be U.S. Chess rated, but U.S. Chess rules will be in effect. Concessions are available. Players are encouraged to bring their own chess clock and writing utensil.
